Alright, here are the rules regarding this forum.
Failure to comply with these rules can and will result in warning points being added to your profile. The amount of points added heavily varies between rules. Reaching 100 points will result in a ban.
-MODS
You won't exactly find common mods here. Sauber's Palace is about bringing to you the rarest of mods, those that either are hard to find or completely exclusive! Common mods are mods you can definitely find somewhere else, but we don't do that here.
-
-TWO OR MORE
Please do not post two or more mods in one thread, except if it's a pack. Let's try to keep it one mod per thread. Double mods that are very similar in a way are excused from this rule.
-TRADING
Sauber's Palace is all about getting the best mods. Don't put up mods and want mods in return. Either outright release it or never mention it.
-EXCLUSIVE
If you are posting a mod, have a link to it. Is there really a reason not to bring a bit of joy to some people with a fresh mod? Just have it released. You don't want to get plagued by people who beg for mods.
-IMAGES
Some images may appear small at first because they are attachments and not links, but if you simply click on them, there you go! This goes for older threads. Later threads use Imgur, and threads later than that use Postimage. I will be changing the attachment images AND Imgur images as the attachments are small and Imgur is restricted under some internet settings. I am in the process of switching them to Postimage.
-BACKSEAT
Only staff are allowed to act upon something against the rules. If you see something that conflicts with the rules, PM a staff member and they will take care of it. Staff will most likely notice the problem and act accordingly.
-SPAM
Spam is prohibited here. If you are suspected to be a BOT, you will be banned.
-FREE STUFF
Rigs of Rods is a free game, and so should the mods. Anybody who is caught selling mods like the Russians will get a serious infraction.
-SINGULARITY
One person, one account. Keep threads to one topic, please.
-BACKTALKING
If you've received an infraction that you do not agree with, politely open a PM with a staff member and tell them your opinion in a nice way. Don't be rude against staff members. DO NOT backtalk them, and do not argue in a public thread.
-JARGON
RoR has some specific terms related to it. When addressing something like an issue, try your best to use those terms to make sense of things. Examples include RoR.log, which contains info from the last time you launched the game, and N/B, meaning nodes and beams that make up the skeleton of a vehicle.
-UNOFFICIAL MODS
It is OK for unofficial content to be posted here. We support that. But that doesn't mean official mods aren't welcome. They are! Though usually they are customized.
-VK LINKS
Any mods found on VK must be uploaded to Dropbox, Mediafire, Google Drive, Mega, ShareMods, 4shared, or any other upload site out there.
-BEG
Begging for mods or other shit is not allowed as it is annoying. I myself do not create full vehicles for RoR. I am a mere customizer who uses other people's parts, of course with credits. This counts as being impolite. This also goes for asking for mods seen in pictures. At some point I will release it, but in the meantime, don't just beg. Ask politely.
-THE BRAIN BEFORE THE KEYBOARD
If you want to "share" your thoughts in a discussion, post it only if it relates to the discussion you're posting in. No matter what the off-topic thing is, even if it's a clever and funny joke, don't post it. This goes for shitposting.
-RESPECT THE CATEGORY
Please know what you are posting and post it in the appropriate category.
-SLOWCHATTING
If you've got a question about something in a board and go on and on with your conversation, I'll tell you to make your own board in the "Support" category and keep text clutter for one single question away from the others. One question per support board.
-INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT
RoR is for people of all ages to enjoy (sound familiar, SAKURAI?), so despite how cliché this is, it's for the better. You know what I mean when I say "inappropriate". Words, pictures, and other media that give away outright or even subtle "inappropriate" content is not allowed on this forum.
-USE ENGLISH TO THE BEST OF YOUR ABILITY
I know RoR is a game played not only by people of all ages but people of all languages. However, RoR IS MAINLY AN ENGLISH-SPEAKING GAME, and so is this forum. Now, ignorance is fine, and with further practice and getting used to it can be fixed. But, deliberate misspelling of words. terms, and jargon doesn't make you look cool and all. Rather, it makes you look mentally lacking, or if you prefer, "retarded". Or maybe you prefer "stupid". U ppl on dis forum can't spel like ur azn homie on hiz fone textin his driftin bud 24 hourz a day. NO. THAT'S A BIG NO NO. It only saves so much keystrokes and in the end the terms may be so illegible that people would have to ask you what they mean. And who wants that trouble? This doesn't apply to being overly verbose. At least that's legible wording.
-TEXT SPEECH
Chat abbreviations like 'lol','rofl', and 'lmao' are allowed in limited numbers.
-CAPS LOCK
Excessive use of upper case letters in your post will result in a post edit and warning points.
-BUMPING THREADS
Don't bump a thread for the sake of putting it on the top of the list without any sort of contribution to the topic.
-QUOTING MESSAGES
You can quote smaller messages to address the sender, but don't quote a big message. It takes up too much space.
-SHOW COMMON COURTESY
If you disagree with someone, that's fine. Disagreements happen all the time in the real world. However, know that disagreeing with someone's opinion doesn't make them a dumbass moron. There's always the choice to actually use common courtesy and calmly explain why exactly you disagree with this person's opinion instead of outright setting that person ablaze and throwing him off a crevasse, telling him what a stupid-ass disgrace of a human he is for having that opinion. No. Don't do that. If you are looking to be respected on that opinion you have, back it up and respect theirs.
-NO DISCRIMINATION
When I used "asn" back in "USE ENGLISH TO THE BEST OF YOUR ABILITY", that was to illustrate the laziness some people undertake while typing. Not to single out a specific culture. Calling out someone for their ethnicity or any other discriminatory prejudice is barred from any media on this forum. Even making a simile or metaphor which uses a discriminatory basis is not allowed. This also applies to any homosexuality moniker, like calling someone "gay". NOT ON THIS FORUM PLEASE! Discrimination is straight up not permitted here, whether it be on race, age (ok boomer is still allowed), sexuality, religion, etc.
-RESPECT EVERYONE
Not every person is on the same intelligence or literacy level. Some may be verbose and others might be so stupid and bratty that you feel like giving them a spanking so hard their ass glows in the dark. But please respect everyone and don't judge their literacy unless it conflicts with the above rules.
-SWEARING/PROFANITY
Swearing is allowed on this forum in limited amounts. Only swear if it is ultimately necessary, like trying to prove a point, for example like what I did with the rules. Only swear for that purpose if it is for the common good of everyone on the forum, to get your opinion engraved into their minds. This rule must not be used to strongly support an opinion that goes against "SHOW COMMON COURTESY". Swearing for the sake of annoying people or making them feel bad is FORBIDDEN. If you just make a board saying FUCK YOU to certain members, I will delete it and give you lots of warning points. If you post saying "You're a dumbass.", same thing. Saying high-volume vulgarities like "fuck", "shit", etc. are also highly forbidden. There is an exception. Compounds using "fuck" like dumbfuck are not allowed. However, compounds using "shit", since its compounds are used commonly, is allowed. Like "bullshit" and its brethren. BUT WHATEVER YOU DO, do NOT, and I repeat do NOT, say the n-word. It is a racial slur which is offensive and strong. Saying ONE SINGLE N-WORD, will result in a ban. Remember, only swear when it is necessary to prove a point. An example would be what you just read. DO NOT ABUSE THIS RULE.
These rules are here solely for the purpose of maintaining order in the forum. They are rules of thumb that everyone should follow for the sake of the common good. There are plenty of places on the internet where you can be more toxic than a can of nuclear waste for as much as you desire, but this forum, a forum which strives to make people of various ages and ethnicity enjoy a game, is not one of those places. Got that?
These rules can and will change without prior notice.
Beyond the seriousness of these rules, have fun and enjoy your stay here at Sauber's Palace.
